The Digital Landscape #005: TX-30
Texas’ 30th Congressional district (TX-30) is rated D+25 by Cook Political report and has 3 candidates running in the Democratic primary as of 1/14/26.
Primary date: March 3rd, 2026
Barbara Mallory Caraway
According to Ballotpedia and some local news coverage, Barbara Mallory Caraway is running again this cycle (apparently she also ran last cycle), but only her Facebook page has any recent posts. She has X and Instagram pages that are inactive.
Her bios mention she served in the Texas State Legislature. She should start creating content based on issues she supported in the State Legislature to show she is the candidate with the legislative experience necessary to get things done in Congress.
Frederick Haynes
Frederick Haynes just launched his campaign about a week ago. His campaign launch video on Instagram (he also has a presence on Facebook and TikTok), and it got nearly 4K likes. He’s a Pastor, and just from watching his launch video, I can tell he’s a gifted orator.
He should be going as hard as possible on video, one a day if possible. I think he has massive potential to grow an audience quick on TikTok.
Rodney LaBruce
Rodney LaBruce has a presence on X, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, but doesn’t have much of a following on any of them. He doesn’t really have many posts to analyze, but something that caught my attention was the ‘D30 Anthem’ on his YouTube page.
I absolutely love the outside-the-box thinking, even if the views are low. Since he has podcast experience, he should make the leap to video.
